Dr. Richman has been treating patients for more than 30 years and has surrounded himself with a friendly and experienced team of doctors and staff who treat each patient with the personalized care and respect they deserve.

Smiles Unlimited is a multi-disciplinary office, which means that in addition to general and cosmetic dentistry, we have specialists on staff to fulfill all of our patients’ needs under one roof. Specialists include: Endodontist (Root Canal Specialist), Periodontist (Gum Specialist), Orthodontist (Braces), Oral Surgeon (Extractions and Implant Dentistry, and Hygienist (Cleanings). This allows for more streamlined and efficient treatment between all phases of dentistry.

Our state-of-the-art facility also features a lab on the premises so we can perform procedures while you wait.

Dr. Max, our medical therapy dog, helps keep patients with dental anxiety calm while undergoing even the simplest of dental procedures. And although he is a trained medical therapy dog, all of our patients, even those who have no fear of the dentist, love spending time with Dr. Max.

Unlike many other dental practices, Smiles Unlimited accepts No Fault and Worker’s Comp insurance for patients injured in car accidents or in work-related incidents.

Smiles Unlimited is located in the beautiful Village of Rockville Centre, NY, approximately 25 miles east of midtown Manhattan. Conveniently situated just 3 blocks from the L.I.R.R. and just 1 block away from the N/15 and N/16 bus stop, Smiles Unlimited is easily accessible using public transportation. You can find Smiles Unlimited on Maple Avenue between North Forest Avenue and Powell Avenue. For our patient’s convenience, there is a parking lot directly behind our building.

Dr. Richard Richman

Dr. Richman is an Attending at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream (formerly Franklin Hospital Medical Center) where he teaches dental education to patients, doctors and nurses. A member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Richman’s primary focus is preventive and cosmetic dentistry and he is committed to furthering his knowledge of the field with continuing education.

Meet Dr. Max

Patients who are scared of being in the dental chair have a new option to ease their anxiety. “Dr. Max,” a medical therapy dog at Smiles Unlimited Dentistry, is helping patients overcome their fear of dental procedures. Originally purchased as his family’s first pet, Dr. Richard Richman was so impressed with Max’s calm disposition and gentle manner with his children that he quickly had the idea that Max might help some of his more anxious patients. He started bringing Max to his office in March 2023, and found that patients loved having Max in their lap while undergoing even the simplest of dental procedures. Now a certified medical therapy dog after months of training, this shorkie poo loves coming to work with Dr. Richman each week and patients now look forward to their visits with “Dr. Max” and the other specialists at Smiles Unlimited.
